As FRT’s exploded onto the scene, we saw so many platforms get upgraded to the level they should have been from the factory. Tapping into our own desire to enhance iconic belt feds like the M249 and the M240, we set out on a mission to see if FRT’s would even be feasible.

In January 2026 we accomplished the first working prototype for the M240 SLR. We didn’t put it out to market because we knew we could make it simpler, stronger, and better performing at its job. Then we introduced the M249 into the test bed and got to work.
